Iraq

Alexander had already been at war with the Persian Empire for three years when he entered Iraq. Darius the second was in charge of Iraq and Iran and many more. Alexander had many enemies but he hated Darius the most. Alexander the Great entered Iraq from the north (which is now Syria) and marched for a long time with his army of 50,000 men. Alexander’s main goal was to concur Babylon and that was exactly what he was going to do. Darius was waiting for him there with an army of 1 million men. No matter how many men Darius had, Alexander still dominated.
